The valley of cheeses

Dear hikers,

Our “Valley of Cheeses” edition is back, dedicated to the discovery of the cheese-making tradition of the Brembana Valley (Bg), a unique place in the world that manages to produce on a not particularly large territory as many as 4 PDOs: Formai de Mut, Taleggio, Strachitunt, Bitto; 4 gastronomic excellences to which correspond 4 stories of mountain people.

  

Trekking excursion in the upper Brembana Valley in the territory of Carona, with arrival in the basin of Rifugio Calvi; difficulty level (E) hiking, in the early afternoon visit and tasting at Caseificio Monaci di Branzi.

 

Trekking excursion in the territory of Dossena, discovering cheese aged in the ancient mines of Dossena. We will walk on agro-pastoral roads, crossing the plateau at the foot of Mount Vaccareggio, reaching the ancient mining site of Dossena. Visit and tasting of cheeses and typical products at the farm La paloma Blanca di Gamba Luisa

 

Individual day trips can also be participated in.
