This itinerary follows the path from San Pellegrino Terme to the summit of Mount Molinasco, one of the most striking viewpoints in the middle Brembana Valley. The start is in the Pernazzaro locality, in the area north of the new thermal baths. From here the route climbs steeply to below the interesting viewpoint of the Torre locality, immediately offering open views of the San Pellegrino basin.
The walk continues along a historic mule track that leads to the hamlet of Pradello. In this section, the mule track gives way to the paved road that accompanies to the characteristic hamlet of Alino, a picturesque village nestled under a natural saddle that can also be reached by car. Alino is worth a short stop for its rural atmosphere and for the view that opens up towards the valley.
After passing the hamlet, continue for an initial stretch on asphalt and then return to a mule track that leads to the village of Ca’ Boffelli, the meeting point with path 506B coming from Sussia. From here you take a carriage road to the right that climbs with a regular gradient. Near a wooden crucifix, a path branches off to the left and in a few minutes reaches the clearing where the Refuge of the Alpine Group of San Giovanni Bianco stands.
The summit is now only a short distance away: one last short climb, about a ten-minute walk, leads to the three crosses and the Molinasco Chapel (m 1179), one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the area, with sweeping views of San Giovanni Bianco, the middle Brembana Valley and the surrounding peaks.
Near the summit lies the magnificent Ronco plateau, one of the most beautiful and intact mountain locations in the area: large pastures still maintained thanks to the work of farmers, an open, harmonious landscape of great naturalistic value.
