Nembrini Hut

The Nembrini Hut, located at the foot of a steep face on the north side of Mount Alben, is run by the C.A.I. Valserina Subsection. Dedicated to the memory of Carlo Nembrini, whose death occurred in the Bolivian Andes while with other climbers they were searching for the body of a French mountaineer. The previous day they had already recovered the body of his guide. Nembrini was the expedition leader. Starting location for this hike is Zambla Pass (1270 m.) at Crocetta Pass, where you leave your car. From here, proceed toward the Conca d'Alben until you meet the markings for trail 501, which climbs toward the SW. At first in the woods, the trail climbs to reach Col dei Brassamonti (1755 m), from where it begins to traverse the head of Val Piana. Leaving the main trail, take a short detour to the left and reach the structure at 1730 m. Hiking trail with hiking time indicated as1 hour 30 min.
