Lake Gemelli

Laghi Gemelli
Branzi

Description

Lake Gemelli means twin lakes. In the Upper Brembana valley Lake Gemelli has a legend. An old lore about two young lovers. Once they were two lakes which when seen from above looked like mirror images of each other but upon the construction of the dam which raised the water levels and enlarged the lake, they became one in union. Hikers can visit the refuge (trekker’s hut) which is situated right next to the lake, where there are options to stay and eat.
As there are many other lakes in the vicinity and can be explored through excursions during the day. A stay at the refuge is a memorable experience.
