The Parish Church Of St. John The Evangelist

According to tradition the Parish Church of St. John the Evangelist holds the Sacred Thorn, a thorn which belonged the crown of Christ and arrived in San Giovanni Bianco via the soldier Vistallo Zignoni who, in 1495 escaped from King Charles VIII of France. It is the object of great veneration by the faithful and is celebrated during the 15 days preceding Easter, a significant celebration for the entire Brembana Valley. The parish church is part of a cultural axis which includes the Mercatorum and Priula – migrant routes, artists, the Tasso family and the Harlequin.
