Free guided excursion to explore chestnuts and their significance. Walk through the historical and cultural neighbourhoods of the villages of Piazza Martina and Castegnone. These villages were once strongholds defending this chestnut rich area. Chestnuts are a precious resource for the local families. Along the way, learn about the environmental and natural features of this territory.
The easy nature of the route makes it perfect for families. As one can find educational signs and stops at the panaromic viewpoints.
Meeting point: Via degli Alpini, in front of Caffè Roma (free parking available). Departure towards Casa Martina and arrival at Castegnone, home of the Biligòcc, with a visit to the Secadur.
The excursion also includes a visit to the Agricultural Company, Casa Martina and treats made from roasted chestnuts.
