In the municipality of Mezzoldo, starting from the cemetery, the historical and hiking trails coincide and continue without interruptions up to the pass, Passo San Marco, on the boundary with the Province of Sondrio. The initial stretch from the Val di Sera valley to the Mezzoldo cemetery continues along the Via del Ferro trail. As regards hiking, this is the most challenging section in terms of distance (12.2 km) and vertical ascent (1,370 m).

The route from Dossena to Lepreno is another exciting adventure!
With a length of 35 km and an expected time of about 4 hours, it offers an exciting opportunity to explore the area around San Pellegrino Terme.

This route is classified as difficult, mainly due to the altitude difference and the dirt roads along the way. The start and finish are both in San Pellegrino Terme, with a minimum altitude of 350 metres and a maximum of 1100 metres.
The total altitude difference is 1300 metres, so you can expect significant altitude variation along the route.

As always, it is advisable to prepare adequately for such a hike, making sure you have the appropriate equipment and good physical fitness.

In addition to the famous and beautiful San Pellegrino Terme, to continue the adrenaline-filled experience Dossena offers various experiences, from the Ponte del Sole (Sun Bridge) to the Parco Speleologico in Miniera (Caving Park in the Mine), as well as the panoramic viewpoint called ‘Il Becco’ (The Beak).

Also along the route in the Santa Croce area a giant bench to admire the valley awaits you for beautiful shots to share!
