Description

This route on the slopes of the mountains above San Pellegrino Terme takes you adventuring into mid-valley Brembana. From the car park in Via Piazzo you cycle on the former railway which is today a cycle path, passing the Grand Hotel and continuing towards Cà de Rizzi and San Giovanni Bianco. Leave the cycle path and push your bike for a few metres up along the side a house on a mule track you reach the road above which takes you to Fuipiano al Brembo. Cycling through the hamlets of Paccacorna and Cà Brusade you enjoy an excellent view of the valley. From Alino you ascend and begin a path which is signed on the left and will take you climbing up the Borlezza valley. At a juncture you descend and pass the old entrance to the “dream caves” (grotte del sogno).Continue to Aplecchio before twisting down to the hamlet of Paradiso and in turn the small bridge of the old funicular railway. Pass the casino and cross the bridge to end this beautiful itinerary by cycling past the Grand Hotel.

Suggestions

From the small square in Alino follow the road uphill signed "agro silvo pastorale Alino, Vettarola" and take the path on the left indicated by metal arrows and yellow discs indicating ' Boione e Vetta' . The route alternates between flat stretches and some parts which are more technical, it ends with some challenging obstacles to be faced with due care and caution.Whilst navigating some of difficult-to-orientate intersections follow the direction indicated by the orange markers
