Century-old Beech

Its large size is unusual, especially considering the fact that beech wood is the most prized for heating. The tree has been preserved over time because it was purchased by Mr Bassano Granati in memory of his son Marco, who died of an illness. A sign was then placed on the trunk of the beech tree with the words 'In memory of Marco Granati'.
