Home to the project LE TERRE DEI BASCHENIS: Art and History in the Ancient Valleys of Averara and Stabina , this itinerary was realised with the aim to enhance the historical and cultural heritage of the area, to raise awareness among the population about local history and art, and to promote and offer cultural tours.
The valley tour continues towards Ornica’s historic center, where you can find the Fratelli Calvi and Del Rastèl squares. They are a maze of narrow streets and alleys that evoke the area's ancient past. A visit to the parish church of Sant’Ambrogio is "almost" mandatory, as it houses important works from the school of Cima da Conegliano and the Baschenis family. In this very town make sure to check out the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Frassino.
