This small church dates to the early nineteenth century and was built on an eighteenth century chapel dedicated to San Gaetano, the patron saint of Catremerio. The church has been enlarged several times and took on its present appearance in the early twentieth century at a time in which the village population numbered 310 and it had broken away from Brembilla to become an independent parish. In 1986 the San Gaetano parish was joined to Sant'Antonio Abbandonato. The patron saint's day is in the first half of August with religious services, a procession and celebrations which last three days and attract a great many local people and visitors.
