Village Of Oneta

Borgo Storico
San Giovanni Bianco

Description

The village of Oneta is composed of a small group of beautiful old houses, many of which have been carefully restored and still present centuries-old structures. Their arches create a welcoming atmosphere for visitors as they walk through narrow cobbled streets with narrow iron-barred windows, dark porches and wood-carved balconies. In the village stands the ‘House of Harlequin’ and Carmine Church. The latter despite numerous renovations has maintained the majority of its original features such as the bell tower as well as some valuable frescos of which some were painted by Ceresa. The village mine is part of a cultural axis which includes the Mercatorum and Priula – migrant routes, artists, the Tasso family and the Harlequin.
