At the end of (road) via Fiume Serio follow the path amongst rocks and woods of both evergreen and deciduous trees keeping an eye out for deer and squirrels! Once you have arrived at a grassy clearing called Pià de la Loera (a hunting hut to the left) take the rocky undulating valley path towards Nembro, passing a stable on the left you reach a fork which allows you to return to Selvino (via Betulle), or you can climb hairpin bends and grassy ridges to the summit of Monte Purito (m. 1150). The summit dominates the lower valley and the foothills of mount Arera and Alben. Following the path the descent is fairly easy and quickly reaches the Madonna di Lourdes cave and from here the ski piste which leads directly to the centre of Selvino.
