It is possible to park conveniently at Piazzale degli Alpini in San Giovanni Bianco, an ideal starting point for a nature excursion. From here, follow the signs for Cornalita, a small hamlet perched on the side of Val Grande. At the first bend in the road, take the path on the right. This is a pleasant route that climbs through woods, dry-stone walls, and scenic viewpoints. In several places, the trail crosses the paved road, but it always maintains a more intimate and natural feel compared to the vehicular route.
Upon reaching Cornalita, a small rural hamlet where time seems to flow more slowly, it's possible to continue and transform the excursion into a loop. After passing the village, follow a dirt road that runs alongside the Val Grande stream, entering a cool, shaded environment rich in vegetation and the constant sound of water. The stretch through the woods is particularly evocative, ideal for those seeking tranquility and direct contact with nature.
Continuing along the path, the dirt road leads to the Ciclovia della Valle Brembana, a comfortable cycle-pedestrian path built on the old railway bed. From here, heading north, you can easily return to the starting point at Piazzale degli Alpini, completing an easy yet charming loop, perfect for families, hikers, and lovers of scenic walks.
